This brand is designed keeping in mind the modern transition of the Indian fashion industry but keeping the culture in it alive. Each collection curated by the designer is unique, ‘one of a kind’ and timeless. The fabric, designs, embroidery and the idea that went into creation of each outfit makes it worthy of being passed on from one generation to the other. A timeless heirloom which every mother would want her daughter to adorn and remember her by. The designer’s love for traditional and rich handicrafts of India, will take you through a journey of each part of Indian handicrafts, designs and weaves. About the Designer
A journey that began with being a passionate yet part-time designer and full time mother of two beautiful daughters, Akanksha Dubey is a reflection of a woman who follows her heart and puts her soul in everything she does. Hailing from the most ancient city- the city of temples and ghats, Varanasi (Kashi), she has immense respect for our cultural heritage and she wishes to bring it to the forefront of the fashion world. Born in a progressive family, she was taught to grow in a modern environment to adapt with the tide of time but never to leave her roots behind. She pursued her MBA in Retail Management and Marketing from ITM, Kharghar and worked in the corporate sector briefly, but she could ignore her heart’s calling for long. She then pursued a degree in Fashion Designing from iNIFD, Mumbai and began the journey of making her dreams come true. She made her promising debut in the fashion industry at the Bombay Times Fashion Week in 2018-19 and was appreciated immensely.
Being inspired from her roots from the culturally rich city of Banaras and the qualities of nature and river Ganges, ARIKAA was born. Her exquisite designs amalgamating with the talent and craftsmanship of local artisans, embroiders and weavers will make way for a niche class of fashion.
